Facebook is finally building a “dislike” button

Not every moment is a good moment…

and looks like Zuck is finally creating a button for this. Users will soon be able to “dislike” a post on Facebook.

Mark Zuckerberg announced in a public Q&A session that his team is working on a “dislike” button – although the actual button name is yet to be revealed.

“People have asked me about the dislike button for many years, we’ve finally heard you and we’re working on this and we will deliver something that meets the need of the larger community.”

I think people have asked about the dislike button for many years.. Today is a special day because today is the day I can say we’re working on it and shipping it.”

The goal of the button is not to downvote posts (as seen on Reddit and Quora), but instead to show support or sympathy, rather than negativity.

There is no disclosed timeframe for the new feature to roll out, but look out for the new button coming to a feed near you.
