Marvel Comics is on top of its game. Over the years, they’ve managed to expand a geeky niche into a mainstream phenomenon. Expression and art merge between Marvel Comics and the vast world of hip-hop with an exclusive line of hip-hop variant album covers inspired by some of the most iconic albums of all time.
Depicted below is an alternate cover to rappers 50 cent Invincible album. The power behind this art-work comes from the designer. For those unfamiliar with 50 cents’ music and early life, In 2000, 50 Cent was shot point-blank nine times in front of his home as his grandmother worked in the yard nearby. Though recovery would be tough and challenging, 50 cent would eventually rise to become a music icon, and in the process, he became somewhat of a superhero. The designer chose the perfect variant for this album.
The resulting artwork is awesome. Now all marvel has to do is come up with a rapping teenage superhero and boom, immediate street cred. Here are some of our favorite hip-hop variant album covers. You can check out the full list on Marvel.com
